New Horizons in New Media Blog

by Vickie on August 15, 2009

Hooray!! The new site design is finally here and open for business, along with a new and improved blog!! Actually, the blog has been up for a while, but I have been working on redesigning it for some time. I am excited to get this started and share with you what I know.

When I started in social networking, I was quickly overwhelmed with all that is out there. I soon realized that, being a very technical person, if I was so overwhelmed, then my clients and most people I know that aren’t technical, would be even more so. And that would keep them away from some pretty wonderful people.

The purpose of this blog is to help you grow your business by embracing new media: if you don’t have a website, we can design one for you; if you do have a website, we’ll help you leverage that so it’s working for you instead of just costing you; we’ll navigate the overwhelming sea of social networking, blogging, and other new media tools necessary to help you succeed. And if you don’t know what new media is, we’ll cover that, too. Or even if you’re comfortable with all this, perhaps you’re ready to ‘kick it up a notch’ and incorporate video and podcasting in your social media endeavors.

Along with blogging, there will be some podcasts here; we’ll be doing live video sessions, some for free, some for a nominal fee. Eventually we would like to take call-ins, but even to start we have a live chat implemented.

I welcome your feedback. I want to give you the information you need, so if you have any questions about anything internet-related or video-related, I’d love to hear from you. So, if you’ve ever wondered about what social networking is, if you should be involved, or how to get involved, drop me a comment We’ll answer it here.

See ya’!

Community Manager: Your Liaison to the Digital Domain

It's a Catch-22. You need more business, so you want to market through social media, but doing it yourself will take a lot of time to learn; and then you'll have to manage your online profiles. Yet taking the time to learn social media marketing takes you away from your business, which you can't afford to do.

That's where a Community Manager comes in. Based on how widespread you want your online presence to be, VSP will develop a winning strategy that includes Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, blogging, video, email and mobile marketing to take your business from "ho-hum" to "hallelujah!" As ambassadors for your brand, we act as your liaison to the digital community, engaging with customers as well as prospects to increase awareness of your products and services.
